Ensuring Disability Access for Patients and Customers:
Myth & Reality
This program will provide information about the obligations of health care providers and other places of public accommodations to provide their patients, customers, and visitors who are disabled with full and equivalent access to the facility and services offered by the provider or place of accommodation. The program will start with an overview of the requirements of Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and NY and CT anti-discrimination law, and then proceed to discuss communication access, mobility access, and website access issues. The overall goal will be to discuss strategies to avoid and minimize liability for these issues.
