This webinar will examine the different jurisdictional requirements of filing for divorce in CT and NY and what happens when there is a battle over jurisdiction. With so many New Yorkers escaping to CT during the pandemic, questions arise – is it permissible to file in either state and what are the advantages of filing in one state versus the other. Two experienced NY family attorneys join us to discuss what is in the pot in NY (marital versus separate property) and we will compare child support guidelines and alimony/maintenance awards in each state.
